Jinho and Hongseok, who finally made their debut under Cube Entertainment's new boy group Pentagon, revealed why they chose their current label.

As you may know, Hongseok participated in the show 'Mix & Match' and almost debuted in YG Entertainment's boy group iKON. However, he left YG shortly after the end of the show. During the showcase for Pentagon's 1st mini album 'Pentagon' on October 10, Hongseok opened up about his past decision to depart YG, and explained, "I was a candidate for iKON, but I was eliminated. So then I was left behind, and I felt like I was too old to be debuting as an idol. WINNER debuted and so did iKON and I got scared of waiting for the next turn under the label. So I went out to search for my own team and music. The rookie development director [of Cube] explained to me about a team called Pentagon and it was perfect, so I told him right away that I want to stay here [in Cube]."

Jinho who was part of SM The Ballad, also explained his decision to leave the label for Cube, and said, "I was a trainee for about 6 years, but my opinions and the label's opinions were a bit different. So I decided to bid them farewell under good terms."

SM and YG did the wrong thing lmao. Love Pentagon. This is the first time I stanned a rookie group so hard that I might crack the ground.

he's just 22. he was 20 when he lost in the tv show. how is that too old?this new craze about debuting people who arent even adults as idols is making the trainees think that this is the standard. madness

it's not too old in normal circumstances. however, this is yg we're talking about. the next time a boy group would debut, after the debuts of two new boy groups, would be at least a few years. that's why he would be too old to debut in the next group.
