A new online term called 'EBS' has been a hot topic among netizens lately.

EBS usually refers to a Korean Educational Broadcasting System focussing on programs to help students with their exam material. However, the term is being used online to refer to the current, top 3 most popular boy groups among teens, or domestic fans from ages 10-19.

As most of you probably already know, EBS stands for EXO, BTS, and Seventeen, and became popular around the time Super Junior's Heechul mentioned them alongside NCT on a broadcast of "A Hyung I Know".

However, when netizens noticed that the term was being so widely used within the online community that even news headlines mentioned the term, they began getting riled up. While some are not against the term gaining more and more popularity, a select few number of EXO fans claim, "EXO should not be put in their level", "Yeah I don't like EBS let's stop using it", "Stop trying to connect them to EXO", etc. Negative comments aimed toward Seventeen include, "Seventeen is apparently popular nowadays, trying to get up on EXO's and BTS's level, as if...", "I don't know Seventeen...", "I realize EXO and BTS are popular but this is the first time I'm hearing that Seventeen are popular", and more.

What do you think of 'EBS'?

EBS is actually not about popularity... it's about the trending topic on SNS.. and even if Seventeen's popularity is not there yet.. its undeniable that they're quite a trending topic on korean's social forum like pann and intiz nowadays... it's not like seventeen gave themselves the status.. it's the netizen who did it.. the fact that the term 'EBS' became a hot topic proved Seventeen's trending status and rising popularity...

Okay, me being a hardcore Carat even I acknowledge the fact that Seventeen are not on the same level. They have plenty they still need to learn, experience, and accomplish. But there was literally no need to attack them? Same with BTS.  WTF stop being salty just cause other people noticed a group other than your oppars >.>

people just want to bash, *sighed* Like a loser in school who's being jealous of others getting all the attention. Then come all the rant, "what's good about them" "My Grandma is more smarter" " Why compliment him/her, the answer not that great". Btw, I love Seventeen. They're really talented. I love that they are participating in doing the choreography, co-compose and co-write their songs too. It's great if they receive more attention.

Yeah it is! But people are unnecessarily dragging them into things when they've done NOTHING wrong during their career.
