21 more underrated debuts in K-Pop

misc.
1. Jiyeon's '1MIN 1SEC'
This is a stunning song that epitomizes elegance with Jiyeon's soft, whispery vocals; the dark, artistic MV; and the interpretive, sexy choreography. Everything about this debut was perfect, and she should have gotten more attention for it!
2. Hyosung's 'Good-night Kiss'
This song was majorly catchy and Hyosung looked like a hot bombshell doing the sexy dance moves to her song. The child-like and 'K-I-S-S-I-N-G' chanting in the background as well as the parts borrowed from children's lullabies add a playful and enchanting element to the song. She got some attention, but the song should have been more of a hit.
3. The Ark's 'Light'
A lot of people really enjoyed this debut because it was something different. The song had a primarily acoustic instrumental with the tough rapping and harmonized singing beautifully intertwining for this gem. The message is also extremely consoling and the MV was heartbreakingly beautiful. They had a fairly good response, but not good enough as the group disbanded without another round of promotions.
4. T-ara's 'Lies'
The song starts off really dramatically with wonderful ad-libbing then goes into a catchy, poppy hook with emotional vocals. It's a great song to both jam out to and wallow in your miseries to; it was a more-than-solid debut from T-ara but they didn't get known until later.
5. DIA's 'Somehow'
This was a fun and catchy song that borrowed from a 90's feel with its sweet vocals and lighthearted instrumental but made the sound its own with a more upbeat dance feel laced subtly throughout. It's catchy and cheery, so should have done better!
6. Hello Venus's 'Venus'
Sure it sounds a bit like a song and looks a bit like a commercial for 'Venus' razors, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! The song has a marching band-like feel to it with the cadence, but then it goes into a sweet and catchy you-oo-oo-oo~ hook matched with the easy leg dance move.
7. I.M's 'Try'
Known formerly as a member of Topp Dogg, Seogoong changed his name to I.M and made his solo debut with this smooth track, "Try." It shows the power of his deep and husky vocals as he sings his heart out - a breathtakingly beautiful solo debut. It has gone under the radar so pull it out and listen to it!
8. Piggy Dolls' 'Trend'
In this case, people were stuck on the concept that this was a "chubby" girl group rather than enjoying their powerful vocals and super catchy song. They have amazing voices and this song screams girl power! Sadly, they disbanded after promoting a few more songs.
9. C-REAL's 'No No No No No'
The soft instrumental, repetitive no's, and the sweet girls should have made this debut more of a hit! Sadly the group eventually disbanded, but this song was super catchy with the ey-ey-ey's and no-no-no-no-no's. A very easy-on-the-ears track.
10. BTOB's 'Insane'
This was a dramatic debut with a very beautiful instrumental. There's a sense of hope amidst despair in the swelling violins and their amazing vocals. It's an uplifting track despite the initially heavy sound.
11. UP10TION's 'So, Dangerous'
UP10TION starts off their MV with an amazing dance break then continues on impressing with their moves in the official song! The many members work well together with cool moves, like the shirt-lifting part, and the song is edgy and cool-sounding.
12. EvoL's 'We Are a Bit Different'
EvoL tried to send the message they were different with their debut, but fell under the radar unfortunately. This was pure girl crush material with a club-like instrumental and powerful vocals, but they did not take over the world like they did in their MV. O-o-o-o-oh yeah-yeahh-ah-ah oo-oo-o-oo~ that should've done it! How does that tune not brainwash everyone into instantly loving this song?!
13. Playback's 'Playback'
This was a really lighthearted song with a super catchy hook that was repetitive and easily got stuck in the head. The girls were bright and cheery and the dance was flirty and fun, so this song should have done better! I for one could not get this song out of my head, and the repetitive chorus enabled me to quickly learn the lyrics and sing with the fun girls!
14. KISS&CRY's 'Domino Game'
Another girl crush material group that fell to nugu-dom for no reason. Actually, many international K-Pop fans did seem to have enjoyed the debut a lot, but looks like they did not get enough attention, especially in Korea, to continue on as they shortly disbanded after. This is a catchy song that uses sassy brass to give off a diva vibe, and they all have pretty good vocals!
15. JJCC's 'At First'
Even though this group was considered Jackie Chan's group and actually debuted with a really good song, they have not made it to success quite yet. This is a very beautiful, soothing song with nice harmonizations broken up appropriately by tough raps.
16. BeBe Mignon's 'I've Only Done Good Things For You'
Some of you may know Ben. Before she promoted solo, she was part of a trio that did not make it far before disbanding. They released really beautiful songs, and this was their debut. It was hauntingly lovely with their sweet vocals - a great ballad.
17. Nia's 'Goodbye'
Nia is an awesome band that has failed to become known even though they debuted with this uplifting gem. The powerful vocal and the awesome band that backs it up work well together. This song was beautifully crafted with deep meaning, but failed to grab attention.
18. KNK's 'Knock'
The instrumental is really hauntingly beautiful. Personally, the verses are better than the chorus because you can hear their raw vocals better, but still, the overall song has an alluring charm to it.
19. Eric Nam's 'Heaven's Door'
Eric Nam debuted as the perfect boyfriend with 'Heaven's Door.' His voice is immensely soothing and the acoustic instrumental cushions it well. His voice soars and tugs at the heartstrings with how its gentle and loving tone.
20. 15&'s 'I Dream'
While the song did get good response, it should have been even more of a hit. It's a strikingly beautiful song that showcases both girls' impressive vocals at the young age of 15, and the message is something anyone can relate to as it talks about fulfilling dreams.
21. Bebop's 'I'm The Best'
The female band dropped this hilarious MV in which they show how girl groups really are behind-the-scenes as they fight for the spotlight. Perhaps they really did have tension though? Because they never reappeared after this feisty, edgy track. Such a fun jam!
