Iron and Kidoh have come under heavy fire for lyrics to their song "Roll".

The lyrics to the song "Roll" go as follows, when translated (some parts are in English):

I heard you said, "Boy, just rape me"
I think I'm sober, not crazy
This is my play gym for you
Play around all you want my babe

Let me tell you in advance, ain't no lover
Engrave it in your mind, I'm yo fuckin' owner
I'm a conqueror, you obey, we're simply accomplishing our God-given human nature
Hol up, I won't repeat myself, strip!

Hop up in the bed, how we roll
Lemme teach you somethin', how we roll
We need a shroom, shroom, Super Mario
That's how we roll, how we roll
Crashing into your breasts, stereo
All my neighbor says, "Where that party up?"
All night long vroom vroom like Ferrari, yo
That's how we roll, how we roll

Pick up the phone, it's your man's number
Of course, my hand is clutching your hair tightly
and your ragged breathing means you dirty ho
I treat you like a sinner, stop being close to tears
I want you to feel it, to beg and feel shame
Your teary gaze, I enjoy this pleasure
So many fuckin' prince, I don't act like a drama
Gon' be yo trauma, think of me every night
Hop up in the bed, how we roll
lemme teach you somethin', how we roll
We need a shroom, shroom, Super Mario
That's how we roll, how we roll
Crashing into your breasts, stereo
All my neighbor says, "Where that party up?"
All night long vroom vroom like Ferrari, yo
That's how we roll, how we roll
All I do is eat good, work that pussy
Eat, sleep, shit, then right away eat, sleep, shit, yeah that's me, bitches
Lick good, grabbing you by the hair
When it's over, shove your ass this way, spank spank

Hop up in the bed, how we roll
Lemme teach you somethin', how we roll
We need a shroom, shroom, Super Mario
That's how we roll, how we roll

Crashing into your breasts, stereo
All my neighbor says, "Where that party up?"
All night long vroom vroom like Ferrari, yo
That's how we roll, how we roll

Listeners were shocked and offended that the two could be singing about raping a girl. However, as the controversy heated up and the tag #IronIsCancelledParty started to get popular, Kidoh spoke up on his Twitter and said:

i was totally fine with it. people who got "offended" were just feminists who probably have no problem with the real problems, nicki minaj, drake, kanye, lil wayne, chris brown. No one complains about their disgusting shit? but they say 1 word and that's a problem? when it's literally obvious that it wasn't even rape because SHE WANTED IT. I think it's just poeple being butthurt and the typical "i need to argue about something so i'm going to pull shit outta my ass and try to start something because i have no life".

Oh also, if she wanted it, she wouldn't say "boy just rape me". It defeats the definition of rape lmfao.

Yes that was bad. RIck Ross. And also you are missing the point. if someone says "boy just rape me" 1) they are LETTING you, 2) they are actually implying to FUCK, they said the term rape in that to be more hip hop. Which Hip Hop has come to shit because everything is fucking disgusting and ghetto now. Wtf happend to the good Hip Hop, the good Rap, the good R&B? Going back, the girl was SOBER too, which means it is NOT rape. If she was drunk, then yes. She was SOBER. it wasn't rape, they just said rape to try to sound "cool". You missed the whole point.

I would claim that writing a novel about a man who kills people is not exactly the same thing as writing a song about committing a crime. Songs are often much more personal than novels. Songs usually reflect the writer's thoughts, experiences and feelings about a certain event or state of being. Rarely are songs written from the perspective of a third person. That's why we often speculate what a singer means by a song; why did she write it, what happened to her for her to feel this way, who is the song about, etc. We don't usually think the song is just a completely made-up story, or that the singer actively tried to write the song out of another person's perspective. We conclude that the song does reflect the thoughts and feelings of the singer. A book on the other hand creates a much broader world. It has many characters with many personalities, and the writer tries to express many different world-views in it. Even though authors' views can definitely be seen in books we don't think that the author thinks like all the characters. A murderer in a book usually is just the bad guy created by the author as an adversary to the good guy. We know that authors try to explore the human condition and create a world of various characters that are many times very different from the authors'. That's why when a singer pens a sing about violently forcing a person to intercourse, and ordering her "not to be close to tears", it's much more disturbing than if an author did the same. Singers usually write their songs in a moment; a song is a the reflection of an intense feeling or thought process and as a result convey a much more personal story. A song is not written over several years like novels, years during which the author creates a world of characters unlike herself.

Of all the themes that they can think of why would they pick this kind of theme. They could've made a rap talking about love and stuff or dissing rappers(not saying that they should say names) like suga's august d(well kidoh could've just joined bts before) or something. I just wish his career won't be greatly affected.

Not only that, but if you're into BDSM/Rape type intercourse, there are more ways to convey that other than saying "rape me" in a song.....total BS he used another person as an excuse for his shitty thoughts.

Ok for all you people who like to moan about the lyrics of the song, you obviously dont listen to the big american artist with lyrics that would probably give them the death penalty from all you judgemental people. I bet none of you people complained when a westerner hits the charts with all there filthy words discriminating women and yes using the word rape, instead you all go out and buy that single because those people hit number one world wide with those songs and it didnt seem many cared, but as soon as a Korean does it, all hell breaks loose, keep up with reality will you, if you dont like it dont listen to it, but i bet some of those same people who complain, love watching all those dirty slutty videos that discriminate women, but dont like to read about what the lyrics say...

In America, we have a CENSOR system that blocks out those words from PUBLIC radio stations, TV, and certain media outlets. We also LABEL our MV's, and Albums with WARNING LABELS! Also, if you think for one minute that these guys don't get blow back here, ask Rick Ross! His career is NON EXISTENT because he used the word "rape" in a song. Don't compare us to you, we are totally different. Our artists don't hawk fan sign events, they don't have mini concerts in the streets, they don't appear on every radio show in the country singing their songs live.......so yes, we have some really raunchy artists out there, but the people they are exposed to is tightly censored. #nuffsaid

yes they may censor out alot of stuff but so do Koreans, but that dont stop people from still buying there singles does it, and it dont stop minors from watching on youtube either, just because they put a age rating on it dont mean all those people who watch or listen are of the age.. and like i said westerners have alot of r rated becuse they like to have filthy vid and descriminate women like i said..

Well it gets some of them in American number one hits, and if you dont know that then you obviously must missed some of the lyrics, but you might not have understood some of the words they say because sometimes you cant understand what they rapping and they suppose to be in english
