A rep from police reportedly told MBC's 'Newsdesk' the alleged victim who made sexual assault allegations against Uhm Tae Woong could be mistaken about the actor's identity.

According to 'Newsdesk', a rep from the Bundang Police Station stated on August 23, "We need to confirm he is the male celebrity mentioned. It may not be Uhm Tae Woong as she might be mistaken." Plaintiff A had previously told police, "Our establishment is not a massage parlor that participates in prostitution, but I was assaulted by a male celebrity."

As previously reported, Uhm Tae Woong's agency KeyEast is claiming his innocence in terms of sexual assault. However, the agency has not commented on whether the actor visited the massage parlor or if any sexual activity took place.

The Bundang Police are still investigating the sexual assault claims.

Oh god lets hope its not this again. Please make sure you have everything correct before you start ruining other innocent poeples lives thank you very much. I'm not saying hes innocent right now because they don't know yet but how come these cases always sound shady as fuck from the person whos accusing. Like you're at a message parlor not at a club full of people. How do you not remember if its him or not. Get your shit straight please.

I don't know if he did or didn't, but, I do know that in Korea men have the upper hand over women. It is sad that Asian women are exploited like that. In America, we have prostitutes. In almost EVERY state it is illegal! Until such time as Korea does away with its antiquated view on women's rights, there will continue to be incidences like this in the news. Further, these young Idols are controlled with such a tight leash around their necks, it is the only feasible way for them to have sexual relations with a female, promoting these type of establishments even more. Some, not all, of these male Idols have been literally raised by their agencies given everything their hearts desire, from clothes, to cars, to housing, etc. So, WHY should they think they should be denied a woman, willing or not? "I AM ..........!!!" The ones who aren't corrupted are STRONG, but unfortunately, not all are.I almost feel as sorry for them as I do the women who have to work in those places. JMO.

Do you really think that prostitution is legal in Korea ? It isn't. Massage parlors exist in every country, it's a place where you get massages ^^. And there are some establishments in every country or state that bend the law, Korea is just no exception. Then, Korea is indeed a bit late in terms of social rights compared to other countries but it is way more advanced than their neighbors (China, Mongolia, Vietnam, etc...). You can't really see you're doing something wrong when the others around you just do worst. In China or Vietnam, people all want a son, when people know they're pregnant with daughters, they try to abort because they know that they have higher chances of succeeding and ascending the social steps by having another man in the house. At least in Korea, everybody has equal chances of rising up, girls or boys. Then, Uhm Tae Woong is not a young idol but a veteran actor married to an ex-ballerina so the second part of the comment is a bit too far-fetched. I really want to believe he didn't do it because he has a beautiful family and is one of those actors symbol of parental advancements where both parents take good care of their child and mom doesn't have to be one always at home.

I just UP VOTED your original message. I am not sure that I agree with everything that you said it. But, I think your viewpoints as expressed are worthy of some consideration too. The situation with YOOCHUN of JYJ Group, and him being a *regular* at 'Private Member' HOOKER BAR CLUBS does come to mind. YOOCHUN was doing NOTHING ILLEGAL. But, some of the manner of YOOCHUN's behavior lends support to some of the views that you seemed to be stating them.

Actually, I am STILL HWAITING to hear IF YOOCHUN *might* be criminal charged with SOLICITING PROSTITUTION in his situation. My understanding is that the PROSECUTOR is *still* considering that possibility. Maybe I am wrong though; or it is already decided. AKP news coverage can be a bit of a TIME LAG on such matters.

While I am in no way saying America perfect, God knows we're not, we are way more advanced in women's rights than Korea. Another commentator made a very inaccurate comment about "advanced European countries" making it "legal". Having lived all over Europe for five years, I can tell you that is totally false. Certain area's have "legal prostitution houses". They are HIGHLY regulated, and all of the employees are medically tested on a regular basis. If ANY business of that sort is found to be operation outside the designated area's, they are FINED harshly, and can be shut down. Does this stop illegal prostitution, or provide safety for these women? No, it does not. Does it prevent the use of MINORS and even CHILDREN in the sex trade? No, it does not. People who think making something "legal" makes it "safe" obviously don't understand the vast gap between those two words. While I do have a very harsh view on the age old profession as I feel it denigrates women, I can understand the desperation that comes with that choice. However, it should be remembered that there is only ONE group of people who derive pleasure from it, and the is the the OWNERS, be they male or, God forbid, female. Thanks for the upvote. I enjoy debate, not hate. ;-)

http://www.allkpop.com/article/2016/07/yoochun-cleared-of-all-four-sexual-assault-charges ... <-- This would be the YOOCHUN situation that I refer to it. NOTE all you YOOCHUN fans, that I chose the AKP ARTICLE that says he is CLEARED OF *ALL* ASSAULT CHARGES ; which is TRUE. BUT, that does NOT mean that criminal charges for SOLICITING PROSTITUTION might not be brought by a PROSECUTOR against YOOCHUN. At least it is my understanding that it is NOT DECIDED YET one way or the other.

One of the BIGGEST *HUMAN TRAFFICKING* Nations for SEX TRADE purposes is ... (drum roll) ... our 'Arab Friends' in the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (U.A.E). What 'matters' though, is that the U.A.E fold do NOT DRINK ALCOHOL. As to HOW MANY of these MUSLIMS have HIDDEN WINE CELLARS, nobody knows for certain. NOTHING quite like the FORBIDDEN FRUIT, you know! ... ;-) ... Then there is driving to BAHRAIN for GAMBLING and HOOKERS. Get back to SAUDI ARABIA, and PURCHASE THAT 'FORGIVENESS' as needed! ... ;-)

Hey thanks for the giggle! Uhm Tae Woong isn't an idol. He's an actor in his 40s. And no sweetie, he did not start out as an idol. I'm not interested in whether he was there for a message or a blow job. He's a grown man. The issue is did he sexually assault this women. And yes, Korea is behind the times on equal rights for women, pay, healthcare. So are two thirds of the rest of the countries in the world. And unless this fact has escaped you, we have a female President. Pretty sure that would have never happened if women's rights were as suppressed and violated as you seem to believe.

My *guess* is that @ElNora is referring to the MYTH of 'Conservative Nation S.Korea' vs. the *reality* described in the URL referred to here. It seems fairly hypocritical to me, that S.KOREANS are 'ripping' TIFFANY (SNSD) over her JAP FLAG EMOTICON; while openly tolerating a HIGH LEVEL of REPULSIVE *PROSTITUTION* behavior.

You're pontificating while not knowing the definition of "idol" Perhaps krell would be happy to explain that to you. My IQ is only 160 and I am after all Korean. I have to demurely defer to a foreigner who knows SO much more about my country than I ever could.

Well, I have you by a mere nine points. Perhaps the def of Idol in Korea is far different than that of America? IDK, but I don't think so. Also, I NEVER claimed to know anything about Korea other than debating the meaning of "Idol". Also, don't be so hard core nationalist that you think someone else can't know as much or MORE about your country simply because you are a Native. I am not ashamed to admit that American History is not my forte, but I have studied some Korean history and find it fascinating. JS

LOL, please stop, it hurts my jaw. I could let you go on with Krell but even he found you too childish for him when you mentioned "mensa level" LMAO, thanks for the giggle ^^. When someone disagrees with you, he lacks "coherence" but when he agrees and talks a bit with you, you love him, you're like 12, right ^^ ? Obviously here sweetie you're in the wrong. Yes in a lot of countries, idol just means a star, it does but in Korea, it means people who are trained under a company to become a singer destined to youth, there is no discussion possible about it. Everybody on this site knows it. There's a clear line, you just need to spend like 1 hour in Hallyu to know that. An actor is not an idol, but an idol can become an actor, even then they only acquire a status of idol-actor (yonggi-dol) like Im Siwan. I cringed enough now, stop posting, too many notifications. I know that saying that to you won't make you stop talking, but I hope that others will stop to help you move on.
