On the August 25 broadcast of 'Happy Together,' LOCO opened up about some of the hardships he faced when his career was just taking flight.

The rapper began, "Our household wasn't well-off. I was the winner on 'Show Me the Money 1.' I thought things would go uphill from there but the company I joined right afterwards was a startup, and it couldn't do anything for me. So I told them that I would leave after paying the penalty for breach of contract, but that fee turned out to be 200 million KRW (~$179,180 USD). At the time, I've never earned more than 1 million KRW (~$895 USD) in a month."

LOCO continued, "But that's when I was introduced to GRAY and Jay Park. Jay said he'd cover [the penalty] for me. In return, Jay said he wanted me to join his company so we could make music together. He basically lent me money. And the track I released right after [joining AOMG] was 'Hold Me Tight.' So I paid the money back with [the money I made from 'Hold Me Tight']."
