At the August 24th press conference for the upcoming SBS drama, Lee Jun Ki revealed, "To be honest, I was really worried about IU's acting at first. It's true that she's shown her skills in previous projects, but there was a lot to process in the beginning. She's close to playing the lead, so I thought maybe it'd be too much pressure for her and I worried."

He added, "From the start of filming, I began to have a lot more trust in IU. IU's able to make the role her own. Working on the 2nd-3rd episodes, it made me think that I was able to lean on her as an actress, and it was another chance for me to focus on my character. I'm thankful she did so well. You should really look forward to it."

'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo', also starring Kang Ha NeulEXO's BaekhyunHong Jong HyunNam Joo Hyuk, and Ji Soo, premieres on August 29!

Lol, I mean what else can he say?? Tbh I'm still slightly worried that people might view IU's acting harshly, especially since she's the heroine in a popular drama like this. It's true she hasn't a lot of experience or technical knowledge about acting, but in all honesty, her instinctive acting is already much better than a lot of idols. If you watch her in Lee Soon Shin, the emotional parts were nicely done (though it was still visible how she lacked techniques). Her other roles were too teensy it's hard to judge. But of course, there are always peeps who hate IU with no regards to her acting skills.
