IOI appeared on 'V' app on August 19 and gave their thoughts on winning four times for "Whatta Man" so far!

Lim Na Young said, "Thanks to the great love received from our fans, we got an unexpected four wins.  We're so grateful," and Kim So Hye said, "Thank you for making us so happy," and Choi Yoo Jung said, "It's given us a lot of strength this week.  It feels like a dream."

Kim Do Yeon said, "I think the more you receive awards, the more you feel a responsibility. There's still a lot left in our promotions, so I'd like for you to fight on with us 'til the end." Lim Na Young added, "We will not forget our original intentions and work hard to the end with humble spirits.  It's a huge blessing to receive love like this."

Jeon So Mi said thoughtfully, "Also thanks to IOI members Jung Chae Yeon, Kang Mi Na, Kim Se Jung, and Yoo Yeon Jung."

So happy they can experience this. Only hope that before IOI is all over that Sejeong, Mina, Chaeyeon, and Yeonjung get to experience it as well. There are no guarantees that any of the 11 members will ever reach this position with their separate agencies and groups, or even if their groups will survive the overcrowded and competitive kpop girl group field. This may be some of the members' only chance at the big prize, so I hope they each can get as much fame, endorsements, wins, money, and love as IOI they can before the group breaks apart.

nowadays it doesnt matter if your song is good or not. be from a famous group, a famous label or a famous tv show and you'll automatically get no1. No real soul in kpop anymore coz the fans are so mindless most of the times

It's true to an extent, but in this article it's incredibly irrelevant. IOI struggled so much with their debut because their handling company wasn't one of the Big 3 and also didn't care about them. They couldn't even appear on music shows. So they didn't have the road paved out in any way for this trophy, yet they did get it with their effort. And actually, personal preference here, but this song kicks ass. It's a great jam to me, and apparently to a lot of people as well if they made IOI got no.1. You might not like it but saying IOI got here because they have nothing but inflated fame is bullsh*t.

so all the free PR they got via the TV show has NOT lead to them getting any extra fame before their debut? bullshit.

Think what you may but that show was not that loved. It gave them extra fame but that fame alone couldn't have earned them these achievements.

That song was bad. It was only catchy. And of course celebs have to mention it all the time to promote the show indirectly, that doesn't mean it was well loved.
