A Pink's Na-Eun talked about being an idol actress during an interview with 'InStyle'.

Na-Eun said, "I am very shy, so I am afraid of new places. For my productions, I get stressed adjusting to new environments and people. But I try hard to overcome that so I can show new sides of me to the public."

She also spoke about the common misconceptions surrounding idol actors' poor acting. Na-Eun said, "Actors who only have been focusing on acting also tend to get involved in controversies, so I think it's understandable for singers. I also think it's natural for the public to be prejudiced, but I think I have a lot more to show. Singers and/or actors should take time slowly to show what they have. I also hope the public will watch me with more patience."

I think this is where the difference with markets.  Asia markets for a lack of a better reason may not have as many trained actors as they do over in the states and europe.  When you are a star in the states you stay pretty focus in your art rarely do you see cross overs.  Yes there are examples of singers who have taken up acting say Jennifer Lopez or Whoopi Goldberg the later has actually won acting awards.  Also the vice versa where Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway are actually amazing singers (google them if you find that skeptical).  The separation is defined that you have TV actors rarely being able to succeed in movies and vice versa.

Yeah well controversies are irrelevant.  Actors do what they do best ... act.  Not many idols are good actors.  And frankly I don't want to see their learning curve on TV and especially not in movies where I've paid money.
