Kangin could still be called to court for his DUI charge?

Although Kangin was reported to have been issued a fine of about $6,000 USD for his recent DUI incident, it appears that things don't necessarily end there.  The court has to decide to okay the fine or call him in for a hearing.

The other day, the Seoul Central District Court said to OSEN, "There's been no progress since Kangin was summarily indicted by the prosecution on his DUI charge. Whether [the court] will confirm [and end it] with the [prosecution's] summary indictment or [the case] will be forwarded to the formal court depends on the justice department's court schedule.  It seems the justice department is still making a decision."

Basically, the court could either finish the case by going with the fine that the prosecution decided on during the summary indictment they conducted on Kangin or the court could call Kangin into court for trial.  Seems a bit ambivalent at the moment, so stay tuned!

Do you think the fine was not enough?

Trial for what?  The guy is guilty.  Just give him a sentence.  But if he gets off with just paying a fine that's not right.

How about suspending his driving license because clearly his first DUI didn't prevent him from doing it AGAIN?

I'm pretty sure that's a given. Question is.. what else they gonna do. he needs to be punished severely.

I honestly don't think he's going to be punished severely. I feel like you could be punished more for smoking weed than drunk driving...

Drink driving in Korea.. everyone does it, but on a legal level and in the public view it is a very big deal... you have a service here where you can call someone and they will arrive and drive you home in your own car... there is zero reason for it when someone ain't totally broke.

No, I mean, I know it could've ben a disaster and I understand the punishment he got, but I don't understand why people acts like he is such a bad person. It's a cultural thing I gess.. In my country nobody really oveys the traffic laws, red lights are more like a sugestion, and at least half of my friends have driven wile drunk or have been in a car with a drunk driver, I know its wrong, but he's junt stupid not evil.

I am an Elf and I think he should get his license suspended. Suju have people driving them everywhere. It is not even necessary for him to have a car.

Well its up to the police station but being its his second time, if he's not going to jail he should at least not have a license. That way it takes away the danger of hurting others. He shouldn't get his license back at all. After the second time of making the same mistake he doesn't need to drive. I'll leave jail time up to the police but this can't be shielded.
