IOI has been accused of rigging their 'V' app heart count.

They'd recently set a record for the most hearts ever on a video on their horror special. The video supposedly had around 9,000 views before the actual broadcasting, but gathered over 200 million hearts.

Fans immediately noticed something was fishy - artists such as BTS and EXO had less of a heart count on videos that had more view counts. For example, the below two videos have 1.5 million and 2.8 million views each, but have 110 million and 105 million hearts.

While it's certainly possible that IOI fans might have given more hearts to the girls, others noticed something else strange. At 2:26 AM, the video had 195,953,691 hearts. Eleven minutes later at 2:37 AM, the heart count had jumped to 200,065,322, meaning that in the span of 11 minutes, the heart count had jumped by 4 million even though there were only 9,000~ viewers. This means they went up by 6,600~ hearts per second, which seems highly improbable.

What do you think about the accusations?

That time I'm working on my thesis so I can't watch. I'm not sure though. The thing is, they've got more than 100M before and they put the video days before. We can give heart even before the actual broadcast, during, and after broadcast. When 100M heart happen before, I use my own phone and my parent phones. I'm installing v app on my parent phone only because of at that time there's 100M project from fans and I want to participate. I don't get to sleep and my thumbs feel numb because I did it for hours, rest a bit, and do it again like that on repeat. I don't think 200M is impossible for IOI if the view is the one to compared rather then the amount of heart before and after. I know I might sound so stupid but hey. I love the girls that's why I did it. It's not even crime.

How are there people saying "who cares"? If hearts, likes, views are so shamelessly rigged, first of all they lose PURPOSE and VALUE as an indicator of a popularity, but second of all, how am I supposed to treat this group who isn't on an even playing field as other groups working and fighting just as hard in the industry?
