Tiffany appeared on 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' on June 24!

She talked about a variety of things like the difference between SM and JYP as well as her variety work.  She said, "While doing my solo promotions, my variety [experience] has expanded.  My Korean got a lot better while doing variety.  I think I was casted as Jessi's translator," and laughed.

As she's currently preparing for a new song with the cast of 'Unnies' Slam Dunk' with the help of J.Y. Park, she explained the difference between agencies SM and JYP with, "For SM, full knowledge of the technique comes before the feeling.  However, JYP said, 'It's okay if you can't do it, but bring to life the feeling and the soul.'  It was a different experience.  I feel that there's more air now when I sing," causing laughter.

She was lastly asked about her dream.  "Doing music that is sincere and matches with my age and the emotions," Tiffany replied.  "Having the Tiffany in her 40's standing on a stage like Broadway.'"

Tiffany did not make the descriptions of both companies, in a negative aspect. 🙂It comes off that way because SM's focus does lack emotions but it isn't necessarily bad. She simply pointed out the difference and she was spot on. SM is as successfusful for what it is because of what she has mentioned. The fact that SM focuses on the knowledge and techniques means they're great if not pros at singing dancing and rapping. And that SM believes their trainees will catch on to the emotions with time which will now enhance their performances. 👍🏾Jyp however focuses on having their trainees capture the audience with their emotions, heart and feelings :) perfect example twice and got7. 😜They aren't the most talented Kpop groups, but I fell for their music because their personalities are so like able and they genuinely wish to perform their best each time and I see it all the time. All in all, if you are the type of person that gets amazed in the first impression by skills technique (physical) aspect of the performance, you're most likely into SM artists. If you're the type of person who sense the feelings a singer/Kpop artists gives off and more of a "let me put on a show" than " let me be the best singer" then you most likely into jyp :)🤔. I like both for different reasons ☺️

Because sometimes like hangeng , he is not allowed to do acting due to suju activity, and almost all sm group are not allowed to have solo album before they 7 years old contract.

Differences? SM makes everyone learn and uses the ones that perform the best. JYP throws them in the lake and promotes the ones that don't drown (leave) and succeed elsewhere.

she should also mention anotherd ifference between the agencies:At SM, trainees who're considered overweight are forced to weigh themselves in front of all the other trainees once a week. If they haven't lost weight, it will be announced so everyone can hear and the trainee is shamed! That's how SM operates. Don't believe me? Go watch this interview with Stella Kim, who was supposed to join SNSD but her parents put a stop to it. She reveals it all

It is if it's your friggin job NOT to be. For self image and day to day, I'd have to agree with you. But if you're selling a fantasy, you'd damn well better be willing to do what you have to so as to play the part.

During JYP's "Sixteen", Jihyo was put in the minor group becuase she was "overweight for an idol". All companies make theri trainees go through extensive diets because, like it or not, looks play a massive part in how netizens react to them and like them. Are there any young idols in the industry who aren't stick thin?

it's one thing to lose weight, another to be shamed publicly for it in front of your peers.

but will they shame her by telling everyone how much she weighs every week?

Well doesnt moving her down a group cause of her weight bring her shame? The companies aren't going to tell you "Hey! We put our trainees on a scale and expect them to be under a certain weight otherwise we shame them!". Produce 101, girls who were over a certain weight were put on a diet whether they wanted to or not. Isn't being labelled as fat for girls who werent even fat shameful? Korea does alot of fat shaming, both companies and netizens. Its not something new.

When forming a unit/group/team utilizing peer pressure is not only a favored method, it's a VERY effective one. Everyone has to be on the same path working effectively toward the same goal. As I said, in everyday life I would agree with you. This isn't everyday life. This is a company that is constructing a product and is using the most effective means to do so. At this point pretty much everyone knows the deal when they try to get in as a trainee. They are constructing a fantasy for mass consumption. Either the trainees conform to that fantasy or they're out. After a certain point its more effective to have the trainees motivated by their peers and brought up to the level of everyone else rather than simply cutting them and starting all over.

I think it's because of JYP's "half air, half voice" technique.

Tbh, not hating or supporting either companies but I feel like every company has their own thing and I understand that SM created their groups like robots but the thing is u were in that company because you chose to be successful in 'that' company so you can't really blame sm if its really their technique to make you successful. idk I kind of feel like everyone is blaming SM just because its their way of running things. p.s im not talking about overworking artists thats a different issue so please don't bash me, I'm just stating how I feel
