EXID's Solji shared the hardship of dieting on the recent airing of 'Cultwo Show'.

The DJs asked the girls of EXID what they enjoyed eating, and Solji responded, "All 5 of us like chicken feet, and I really like meat." Junghwa added, "We also enjoy stews. Bean sprout broth and gamjatang. Things like that." The members also revealed they can't stand being hungry.

Solji said,
"An empty stomach is so painful. Several days ago when I didn't eat anything, I was so powerless and annoyed. I realized that an empty stomach is a big no no." Hyerin chimed in, "Last time when Solji unni was on a diet, she went to the bathroom crying and said, 'Why are they not giving me any food?'"

That's honestly so unhealthy do idols not have nutritionist to assist them before comebacks that should be just as important as visiting the the derm. for their skin you would think that in a country that's extremely knowledgable about skin care and their ingredients that they would be just as knowledgable about dieting and health

Isn't that technically illegal? Starving your artists and refusing to give them ANY food?

"Ultimately, I am working to live and eat, but they wouldn't feed me." Companies shouldn't  starve their artists. Its sad that this is normal amongst girl groups. Solji is 27. She is a fully grown adult that could make her own choices when it comes to eating. This isn't good for their health and will ultimately make them sicker in the long run but the company doesn't care cause by then, they'll have a newer younger girl group.

I am new to this, but can anyone explain why they have any need to go on a diet?  They don't seem like over-weighted girls.

Normally when idols aren't promoting they get a little bit heavier, then their managers insist that they get super skinny again when they are going to be filmed and photographed a lot.

Shouldn't they be able to eat as much as they want as long as they don't take in more calories than they burn? Especially because they move alot, it should be like a normal healthy diet

They are all grown adults. They should have the freedom to control their own dieteu. Duh

there is always a fine balance.  true, they can't eat what they want all the time... but they must practice dance and exercise so much they probably could eat whatever they wanted and not gain any weight.  agencies are just protecting their moneymakers....

K-Pop artists and their companies are insane. I mean, not eating anything is ok,I do that sometimes too from time to time to test out my willpower, but I do that on days where I know that I will only be laying at home crying and fangirling over BTS. But these artists have tight scheduels and dance practices. Setting something like this as an "idol" and rolemodel is not ok, especially because many young girls look up to them and can f--- up a lot if they're not healthy during adolesence. I hope that one day Koreans will understand that eating healthy and exercise is the best way, but until then starving for several days and fainting on stage will be something that is not rare, sadly.
