Previously, IOI's manager was the target of a lot of anger after he seemingly mistreated the girls by yelling at them, specifically Yoo Yeon Jung, in a mean and rude way.

Finally, YMC Entertainment responded to the controversy with a rep stating on May 11, "We saw the video that became a controversy recently.  The manager in question has been removed from his work and is currently given a desk job.  We feel apologetic towards IOI's fans, and we will be careful so that something unsavory like this will not happen again."

Some people are of the mind that the manager was just doing his job because he's responsible for getting the girls to their schedules on time.  However, YMC stated, "Firstly, yelling at the IOI members is the manager's fault, no matter what.  It was an incident that occurred suddenly depending on the burden and responsibility he felt. Normally, the managers are affectionate toward the IOI members, taking care of them like family.  This the IOI members know well, too.  That's why the IOI members feel that this is a shame. However, from the point of view of those operating the management, it seemed most reasonable to change the manager's position, so that was done immediately."

Do you think YMC handled it appropriately?

YMC says that he shouldn't have treated Yeonjung like this, but they're not even putting her name in the photobook of IOI's first album.

People getting mad, but tbh the way this company handles stuff sucks. First with the MV and now this. They like to nip the problem at the bud, but that only makes them look like pushovers.

Oooohhh... looks like the manager got thrown under the bus to appease netizens... a reprimand would and suspension might be in order... throw in a private apology to the girls and an explanation on why he did what he did... Situations like this might open up a can of worms... IOI are still very young... I hope their heads don't swell with the knowledge that they can affect their managers' positions... A father shouldn't slap he mother in front of the kids... makes them lose respect...

Part of the job of the manager is to be able to communicate with their employees in a professional manner and if they cannot, then they shouldn't be a manager.  So what if he gets in trouble if the girls are late, etc. - that's the job of the manager - it's his responsibility!  It doesn't mean he can talk shit to the employees, though.  Think about your manager and how you would feel if he/she berated you publicly?

the manager did yell....but if it needs to be done then why not. it's not like he hit them or anything. he has his responsibilities and if the girls dont listen they'll think he's easy. fans need to stop treating idols as if they're untouchable. idols need disciplining too. when idols come late to an event it would hurt their image but behind the scenes it would hurt the manager and the manager will get a scolding from the company. either way he gets it from left and right. it might seem unprofessional to some but we cant really judge that based on a super short clip can we. i love the ioi girls but if they need someone to discipline them then why not
