Viewers were uncomfortably disturbed by a scene blatantly referring to rape on the most recent episode of SBS drama 'Ddanddara'.

On the 4th episode aired on April 28, Hyeri told Ji Sung the story of the night that unjustly caused Minhyuk to become a rapist. She said, "He went to go pick up his MP3, and saw Ji Young being attacked by some guy. But then someone hit him on the head, which caused him to faint, and when he woke up, police was there, and he became the rapist."

During Hyeri's narration, the scene transitioned into one of Ji Young being assaulted by an unknown male. Viewers then strongly reacted in discomfort and said, "Is it necessary to show that part? It would've been okay with just the narration", "That scene is offensive and inappropriate. Can't believe it was allowed to air", "Are they trying to air provocative scenes to increase viewership ratings?", "Ji Young is a high school student. It's not okay to show scenes like that with young actors", etc.

Do you think the scene on 'Ddanddara' was inappropriate?

hows that uncomfortable? it was literally 3 seconds and nothing intimate was shown, he was just on top of her....are these people so fuckin sheltered in life that theyve never seen rape scenes in movies and dramas?

nemomeetsrabbit Friday, April 29, 2016

when they showed nothing, netizen claimed the drama is boring & hard to understand, now we know the truth & netizen claimed the scene is offensive..damn..hard to please much...p.s: by the way, i thought it ruled as sexual assault in the drama?

Rape is more likely to happen if you dress like a skank. If Korea is trying to hide the fact that rape happens, then maybe they should think twice about the revealing attire in kpop videos.

Please jump in a lake and swallow. Rapes are most likely to happen from someone you know. Also children don't usually dress like skanks, but evil people do terrible things to them all the same.

oh yeahhhh cause RAPE "NEVER" HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE PEOPLE SHOULDN'T WATCH IT TV TO INCREASE AWARENESS. YEAHHHH~ *sarcasm inserted*

Well, this scene mirrors reality. If rape or attempted rape isn't ok to watch on acted television, imagine how much worse it is in reality. How about putting focus to stop rape in reality first?

rape scene cant be accepted but sex scene they accept. wow, just wow.korea should just censored most of the western dramas lol.
