10 underrated K-Dramas that you are missing out on

misc.
1. Prosecutor Princess
Now this is a drama that did it right! When it comes to law and crime, Korean dramas tend to be lacking, but I think this one did a very good job and delivered all the plot twists in an effective way. Not to mention, the chemistry between Park Si Hoo and Kim So Yeon was so raw and strong, and she is an immensely incredible actress, proving she can do versatility with ease through this production. Think 'Legally Blonde' in a way. The OST? Killer. Don't know why it didn't do better!
2. Oh My Ghost
This drama met with relative success, but why wasn't it more hyped? It had a very fascinating and unique storyline that left you confused about who was the main female protagonist and whom the guy was really falling for. It was poignant with a heartwarming message about life yet lots of comedic as well as thrilling aspects to keep things entertaining.
3. Kill Me, Heal Me
This drama was flat out hilarious and Ji Sung was just so amazing in this drama that he deserves all the awards. Although it does have a dark plot kind of gloomily hanging over the drama in the background, it was mostly lighthearted with a great cast. Ji Sung's portrayal of seven different personalities, which come out one at a time gradually to keep you intrigued and also to make you delighted once a new one appears, was done extremely well! Make sure you try this out (and the main drama song is so, so good).
4. What's With This Family?
Family dramas aren't as big overseas as they are in Korea - for example, this drama almost hit a 50% rating which means half of the country was watching it upon first airing. It's a small country, but c'mon, that's still a lot! This drama was charming and beautiful, a moving story about a sweet father who wants nothing but the best for his children who are too busy with their own lives to pay him any attention. The chemistry, in particular, with Hyungsik-Nam Ji Hyun-Seo Kang Jun and Kim Hyun Joo-Kim Sang Kyung was incredible (sorry Yoon Park-Son Dam Bi). You just got sucked in, and even though there were a few irritating characters, they were made somewhat likable and were offset by the endearing ones. Again, comedy mixed with sadness brings to relief the poignancy of real life.
5. Rooftop Prince
This drama had good acting, good cast dynamic, and chemistry. The OST was hauntingly beautiful and the romance depicted between the mains was heart-wrenching, tragic yet bittersweet. They did a very good job of keeping you confused about the mystery that is shown in the historic time until very near the end of the drama, when there's a big reveal. They also had an intriguing bad guy - not the main antagonist, but the sister. Would she turn out to be good in the end? You both hated her and wanted to root for her to become a better person, and that's when you have a good bad person. At that point, you're emotionally invested.
6. Let's Eat
I love food, so I had to watch this drama, of course. Not only do you get a handsome Doojoon but you also get an overall lovable cast with a great dynamic. Yoon So Hee plays a somewhat ditzy, naive girl, yet she doesn't get on your nerves at all, which is a tricky feat. She's just a sweetheart. There's also an adorable dog and hilarious co-workers of Lee Soo Kyung to keep things interesting. Although the romance isn't that great (offset by 'Let's Eat 2') and even the thriller mystery is random as heck, you'll fall in love with the characters and feel like part of the family while you enjoy the yummy food they eat vicariously! Definitely worth a watch.
7. Can You Hear My Heart
This is heart-wrenching tale has a lot of substance to keep you going, and an antagonist who could be a protagonist and you root for him to go that way (cough, Nam Goong Min). If you don't fall for him by the end of the drama I mean, he's kind of crazy, but he's so cute There's also some immensely incredible acting from the other actors, and there are interesting things going on amongst the families and how the two leads find each other among the turmoil. It's a beautiful, moving tale and it also speaks a lot about handicaps like deafness and intellectual disability. And. That. Bromance.
8. Hello, Miss!
Okay, this might be an over-the-top quirky drama with Lee Da Hae being a bit too silly, but I like how it covered the line of traditional versus modern with Lee Da Hae trying to defend the traditional home and values that have been in her family for generations while Lee Ji Hoon tries to buy her out, more on the side of modern consumerism. However, it's adorable how he falls for her and tries to woo her. You'll be falling in love with him in no time!
9. King 2 Hearts
A story of love and war. I mean, how can you go wrong with that? Plus the drama stars stellar acting from both Ha Ji Won and Lee Seung Gi whose characters overcome the north-south tensions to form a lasting love amidst the harsh realities of war. This drama is great because not only does it encompass romance, but it also encompasses thick plots of politics and the fight for power. If you think you are up for these unique dynamics, then give this drama a chance!
10. Shut Up Flower Boy Band
Illustrating the story of five flower boys' coming-of-age after losing their best friend in an unfortunate accident, 'Shut Up Flower Boy Band' is one of the best high school K-Dramas to watch. First off, the chemistry among the heartthrobs in the band is ridiculously adorable. You have the bad boy who falls in love with his best friend's crush, the emotional boy who comes off as mysterious, the casanova who loves to go around from girl to girl, the boy who speaks satoori, and finally the boy who goes against his wealthy family to be with his friends. From love, to loyalty, to teenage angst, 'Shut Up Flower Boy Band' deals with all the emotional rollercoaster that one might go through throughout their high school days.
