G-Friend address being called 'Girls' Generation imitators' + reveal cute interactions with senior groups

Girls

In a recent interview, popular rookie group G-Friend talked about their senior groups and more! Not only are the girls sweet and likable but they also have impeccable taste.

Sowon stated, "I really wanted to become close to MAMAMOO, and recently, in the music show waiting room, MAMAMOO's Whee In first told me that we were the same age, so we should get along like friends, but I don't have a cell phone, so we were unable to exchange numbers."

In addition, the girls addressed the fact that they were being called imitators of Girls' Generation. Considering the small world of idols, there seemed to be no choice but to have overlapping concepts. G-Friend proved grateful for the attention, however.

They revealed, "A few days ago, we saw Girls' Generation in the waiting room. Even though we're rookies, they spoke warmly to us with 'The dance must be so hard, congratulations on your comeback, be careful of your knees.' We want to learn aspects of skill from Girls' Generation. Girls' Generation are good at live and we think they're good at dancing, too."

It's been seven months since the girls debuted, so what can fans expect from them in the future? Umji said, "More than having an exact concept we want to do, we believe that we are doing something that matches us right at this age. When we get a bit older and have more years on us, we think we would then be able to show, once again, other content that matches us at that time."

Yuju, however, added, "Probably for a couple of years, we will be doing an innocent and youthful concept like we do now. We think that our concept right now matches us the best."
