G-Dragon talks about his new modern art exhibit, 'PEACEMINUSONE: Beyond the Stage'

G-Dragon
Earlier today, Big Bang leader G-Dragon held a press conference for his new exhibition called 'PEACEMINUSONE: Beyond the Stage' at the Seoul Museum of Art, located in central Seoul.

The leader revealed his feelings that a lot of people were probably curious and even doubtful when they first heard that he will be opening an exhibition at Seoul Museum of Art.

The singer elaborated, "I am person that does music but I am also a mainstream artist. There are many things I realized while working with different artists. We make up for what the other lacks, creating a sort of synergy; personally I've had a lot of those experiences. Based on that, I wanted to use this opportunity to work with various artists who possess a broad perspective of modern art to create an exhibition that goes beyond pop culture and modern art. I don't know if [my approach] will work but I want the public to be introduced to many great artists and for people who thought of art as a difficult topic to be able to approach it with ease. That's what I hope to achieve."

G-Dragon added humbly, "I was able to learn a lot of things I didn't know working with the artists and it gave me a chance to broaden my vision. And for that I am thankful."

This exhibit is one that crosses the borders of music and into fashion and design, and expresses G-Dragon's cultural vision via the language of modern art. Its ultimate goal is to attract the masses to modern art through familiar topics so that they will be able to relate more to it, and not be repelled by its lofty concepts.
