ZE:A's Kwanghee was likely very hurt from the previous petition against him becoming the 6th man of 'Infinity Challenge', and for a little while, it looked like his worst nightmare was coming true.
On the May 9 episode of MBC's 'Infinity Challenge', Kwanghee made his first appearance. During the car ride to the set, the staff had secretly installed a hidden camera. The cameras filmed Kwanghee pretending to not be nervous as he sang in the car, but he actually was very nervous as his lips trembled.
In the episode, Kwanghee first talked about how he thought he would start filming for the show as soon as it was announced he was the new member, but he didn't. Yoo Jae Suk explained that they were filming something beforehand.
Kwanghee said, "So for two weeks, I cleaned my room everyday. Just in case you all would make a surprise visit to my house," causing laughs.
Jung Hyung Don said, "We don't do that anymore!"
Yoo Jae Suk said, "We used to do that a long time ago."
Kwanghee said, "Even after a week no one contacted me. But during that time there was that petition against me..."
Jung Hyung Don said, "There was a one-man protestor outside today too."
Kwanghee said, "Kim Producer is human too, and the ones behind MBC are people too. So I thought, I see that they're getting wavered (about me). I thought I wouldn't get in."
And then that's when the male protester wearing a mask and holding a huge sign came in. The sign said, "Sixth man Kwanghee. I am against you joining 'Infinity Challenge'. Hwang Kwanghee OUT!" along with a photo of pre-debut Kwanghee before he tweaked his face.
Yoo Jae Suk approached the man telling him that he couldn't do this, and Kwanghee looked extremely uncomfortable.
And then Yoo Jae Suk turned the sign around, which said, "Our maknae, Kwanghee. Welcome!" along with an attractive photo of Kwanghee. It was only a prank after all!
Kwanghee burst out into laughter and even gave a few friendly punches to the man. The 'protester' happened to be one of the staff members!๏ฟฝ
Kwanghee explained, "Even just now, I wasn't sure how to act. You went up to face him, but I was in the back hiding. I thought I might receive hate comments about how I was hiding. [But if I came forward] I thought I would get hit so I was scared. I saw him earlier, so for the past two and a half hours, I felt like I had sinned."
Yoo Jae Suk added, "Even before, he was worried that people would hate on him for acting too close with me. He said I'll call you 'sunbae-nim' instead of 'hyung'. But you don't have to do that!"
We hope Kwanghee knows that he doesn't have to censor himself and be self-conscious, because so many more people love him just the way he is!
