On the October 9 broadcast of KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together', Seo Taiji was asked about his ex-wife Lee Ji Ah and his thoughts on their past scandal.

Seo Taiji and Lee Ji Ah shocked the entertainment world when the latter belatedly revealed that they had a 9-year secret marriage. Seo Taiji and Lee Ji Ah met when Lee Ji Ah was only 16-years-old and secretly married later on. The two had a very private relationship, to the point that absolutely no one, not even  heir family or friends, knew about their marriage. They divorced in 2006, yet the public still did not know about their marriage until 2011 when Lee Ji Ah sued Seo Taiji for alimony.

During this episode, the panel carefully asked Seo Taiji about his former wife Lee Ji Ah. Starting at the 0:38 mark in the video above, Seo Taiji opened up about his feelings regarding the scandal, and thought back to when it first broke out. "At that time, I was in a foreign country so I didn't know this was a huge deal. When I returned to Korea the issue was really big. Because I tiredly lived a private life, I feel apologetic towards the public," he said.

He then disclosed his past thoughts on their secret marriage, saying, "Just as I retired at a young age, I was very young then too. At that time, I really liked her and I thought we would turn out well, but relationships between men and women can turn out badly, right?"

He continued, "It was probably difficult for her too. There were a lot of things I did wrong. Because I'm the man, I thought that I was solely to blame."

To conclude the story, Seo Taiji said, "Anyways, I have a child now. And that woman is doing very well, so if she could live happily and lay down all her burdens I would like that."
