MC Lee Kyung Kyu has gone under fire for going to play golf.

According to YTN on the 26th, Lee Kyung Kyu went golfing with 3 friends. YTN reported, "Lee Kyung Kyu has been playing golf since 11 AM today on the 26th at a golf course in Jeonnam's Hwasoon. Because of the Sewol incident, the celebrity industry has been offering condolences and making donations. Amid all this, we believe Lee Kyung Kyu's golfing will be seen as unfitting."

Lee Kyung Kyu's label told Osen, "He heard about the report and has now stopped and come back. There was an event that he promised to attend a long time ago. However, the event was cancelled, so the manager of the event proposed they go golfing, and he had to attend. But he decided it could be misunderstood and controversial during the time, so he came right back out. We're sorry that we unintentionally caused trouble."

However, most netizens are on Lee Kyung Kyu's side. Many think that the report was intruding into his personal life, and many wonder if YTN reporters are also not doing any type of hobby activities whatsoever. Some have criticized YTN for creating unnecessary drama.

What do you think about the situation?

i really don't like this MC....but i don't see why everyone is getting their panties up in a snit.....the US did not shut down after 9-11.  Life goes on and the living have to go on living......so how long does this period of mourning go on?......and who determines the duration?

He did nothing to offend the recent tragedy so it was definitely out of line to criticize him over it. YTN has to stop being so hypersensitive. The living have to keep on living. You can't expect everyone to just be sitting at home watching the news 24/7 for updates on the accident.

if it weren't golfing or anything else, should they just sit at home and update on sewol's news 24hours? no matter what happened,  life must still go on, get a grip ytn.

Loosen up people. It not like celebreties fault over what had happen about the ferry's incedent. The country is mourning, but everyone's life has to go on!

Oh c'mon, we all are heartbreaking over this but some people just show it in other ways and methods. Just because you eat deliciously or laugh happily doesn't mean you're not sad over the incident. I think we gotta loose out the criticism eyes of everyone a bit... :

I feel like criticizing people for carrying on with their daily lives makes the situation more depressing than it already is. Why accompany a negative situation with a bunch of people who 'have' to act depressed and stop everything they normally do? Mourning is normal, but it just seems like they want people to stay sad forever

I understand that the ferry incident hit the nation really hard...but other people need to move on and continue with their lives. What, do they expect all of korea to crawl to the floor and cry 24/7??

then YTN should be criticizing themselves too no? lols ...i mean if they believe he shouldn't be golfing because of the incident then they also should not be producing stories like this. They're just being ridiculous!

Its a terrible accident and my heart goes out to the families, but its not like the WHOLE world needs to stop what they are doing... if he paid his respect to the accident what more can you do? Does he need to stop what he's doing and cry on the floor..... Jeez

Lee Kyung Kyu should just be able to do his own things. This event is part of his JOB. I don't see you reporters putting a hold your YOUR own jobs. If you are able to criticize him, then you should put a hold on your career first
