SEE ALSO: HyunA's choice of top & comment about public relationships become a hot topic

50. BTS "N.O"
Label:
Big Hit Entertainment
Release Date: September 10th, 2013

While a number of hard-hitting, aggressive boy bands have made a splash on the scene in the last few years, their subject matter is often a bit unrelatable to their target audience. B.T.S stood out from the crowd by tackling subjects close to their audiences' hearts, such as the struggles of high school life. "N.O" sees the boys criticizing the system in which students are too busy being students to have a proper childhood.

49. San E "Story of Someone I Know"

Label:Brand New Music
Release Date: August 1st, 2013

San E was out of the spotlight for a long time before he finally changed companies and made his grand return in 2013 with "Story of Someone I Know". The video illustrates the same story as the song- a man telling the sad, sad story of his "friend" who's been eternally friendzoned by the girl of his dreams- with the added twist that he never had a shot because the dream girl already has a girlfriend.

48. Kim Ye Rim "All Right"

Label:MYSTIC89
Release Date:June 17th, 2013

Lim Kim's tale of a too-nosy ex boyfriend got an artistic treatment in the MV, where he peeked in on her life from every corner and wouldn't stop pestering her to know how she's doing, even when she covered up the windows and shut the curtains. While "All Right" technically qualifies as yet another dreaded K-Pop box video, the thoughtful shooting and well-executed storyline kept it from being boring.

47. TEEN TOP "TEEN TOP Shake"
Label:
T.O.P Media

Release Date:February 25th, 2013

At the height of "Harlem Shake" fever, TEEN TOP brought us their own kind of shaking, with their promotions for "Miss Right". They showcased their hand-shaking choreography and the goofy sides of their personalities, featuring guest spots from their fans, friends, staff, and even girl group Rainbow.

46. Trouble Maker "Now"
Label:Cube Entertainment
Release Date:October 27th, 2013

Trouble Maker wouldn't be Trouble Maker if they weren't causing a scandal, would they? Those who thought their debut was too risque were in for a surprise when "Now" pushed the boundaries even further with their Bonnie and Clyde inspired drama about criminals on the run in a doomed romance.

45. CL "The Baddest Female"
Label:
YG Entertainment

Release Date: May 27th, 2013

This year, CL finally made her long-awaited solo debut with "The Baddest Female". She brought us her version of YG Entertainment's signature solo video style, and even brought her own signature dance to the table, getting us all to "do the unnie" right along with her.

44. 2YOON "24/7"
Label:
Cube Entertainment
Release Date:January 16th, 2013

2YOON brought banjos to K-Pop, with their countryside getaway in "24/7". The video was as fun and silly as the song itself, with a handful of hilarious cameos and a super fun dance to top it all off. It was a great chance to see a new side to a few of the sexy ladies of 4minute.

43. Ga In "One of a Ga In"
Label:
*This is a parody*
Release Date: December 25th, 2012

Ga In is a K-Pop icon, both as a member of the Brown Eyed Girls and in her own right as a solo artist. So, it only makes sense that she'd pay homage to another of today's iconic artist in the same mold, G-Dragon. Her cover video, produced for Brown Eyed Girls' 37.2 concert, was not only hilarious, but begged the question- when are we going to get a parody cover of "Bloom" from G-Dragon?

42. Jay Park "JOAH"
Label:
Universal Music
Release Date:April 9th, 2013

"Destination" videos were all the rage this year, with MVs shot in London, Stockholm, LA, Hong Kong, and other international locations. Jay Park's "JOAH" was a particularly special destination video, as it was filmed in his hometown of Seattle and starred friends from his AOMG dance crew. The female lead in this video is none other than Clara, who went on to become one of 2013's it-girls.

41. Nine Muses "Gun"
Label:
Star Empire
Release Date:October 13th, 2013

2013 was a great year for Nine Muses, who came back strong as nine members, scored some respectable chart positions, and finally got to do an out-of-the-box music video! The video shows the girls running their own gas station in the middle of nowhere, using their feminine wiles to scam a too-handsy motorcyclist into buying way more gas than he could possibly need.

40. Akdong Musician "I Love You"
Label:
SBS Contents Hub
Release Date: May 13th, 2013

Is anyone cuter than Akdong Musician? The answer is no, but co-star Lee Hyun Woo comes close with his crush on Soohyun in the adorable MV for "I Love You", Akdong's OST for 'All About My Romance'. Chanhyuk plays the real-life role of watchful older brother while Soohyun makes the world's cutest batch of cookies for everyone. It's a music video so sweet, you might just get a cavity.

39. Roy Kim "Spring Spring Spring"
Label:
CJ E&M
Release Date:April 21st, 2013

While the song itself was embroiled in a couple of controversies with plagiarism, the video for Roy Kim's "Spring Spring Spring" remained charming and controversy-free. It may be customary for a performer to move themself from set to set between scenes, Roy Kim changed things up by having the set move and change around him in the seasonal video.

38. BoA "Disturbance"
Label:
SM Entertainment
Release Date:January 27th, 2013

After the success of "Only One" last year, BoA broke with SM Entertainment tradition again, bringing us another beautifully-shot drama video. This time around, she brought SHINee's Taemin on as her co-star, giving both of them the chance to show off their acting skills. The video also offered a choose-your-own-adventure style ending, letting viewers decide how the relationship between our two characters would end.

37. SECRET "YooHoo"
Label:
TS Entertainment
Release Date:April 29th, 2013

2012 ended on a rough note for SECRET, after a car accident left them injured and took Hana (then called Zinger) out of the game for a while. We were all happy to see them come back to us safe and healthy in 2013. "Yoohoo" shows the girls shipwrecked on a beach and trying to find their way back to civilization, and features some really beautiful scenery.

36. Davichi "Turtle"
Label:
Core Contents Media
Release Date:March 3rd, 2013

Davichi's "Turtle" took us on an Alice in Wonderland inspired adventure in the woods, starring the beautiful Hyoyoung of 5dolls as a lonely Alice brought to life by a music box and following a white rabbit. Sadly, her song ends before she quite finds her Hatter, and we're all left to wonder what happened next.

35. John Park "Baby"
Label:
Music Farm
Release Date:July 2nd, 2013

Lots of K-Pop songs and videos talk about a consuming, distracting infatuation, but John Park's "Baby" took it to a whole new level, showing a couple who actually attract each other like magnets. In the beginning of the video, they both attract furniture and knick-knacks to themselves, but by the end they only attract the other person, perhaps to show the kind of change love can have on your priorities.

34. A-JAX "Snake"
Label:
DSP Media
Release Date:October 27th, 2013

You'd think a bunch of boy scouts would know to look out for wildlife in the forest, but not A-JAX. Even a snake charmer can't tame this serpent-like woman in what is possibly the funniest video about being devoured alive that has ever been made.

33. Jaejoong "Mine"
Label:
C-JeS Entertainment
Release Date: January 16th, 2013

Jaejoong pulled no punches in his visual-kei-inspired tirade against his own personal oppressos.. In a video loaded with symbolism, he broke free of his own chains, wandered in the frozen wilderness, ultimately sprouting wings and flying away.

33. Ladies' Code "Pretty Pretty"

Label:Polaris Entertainment
Release Date:September 3rd, 2013

Ladies' Code was this year's rookie group to watch, as their strong vocals and quirky concepts quickly made them stand out from the pack. Their MV for "Pretty Pretty" showed off the members' confident charms and cute personalities, as well as the fact that they don't take themselves too seriously. Sun of the Wonder Girls compared "Pretty Pretty" to her group's previous hit "So Hot", and the girls of Ladies' Code certainly could be headed for that level of recognition.

32. 4minute "What's Your Name?"
Label:
Cube Entertainment
Release Date: April 25th, 2013

It's kind of unusual to get excited by a power outage on set, especially with how long and exhausting filming can be. However, a power outage on the set of "What's Your Name?" didn't bring down 4minute's spirits. When the lights went out, the girls remembered the same thing happening while shooting their video for "Hot Issue", and the girls took it as a sign that "What's Your Name?" would be an equally big hit. Turns out, they were right!

30. 2AM "One Spring Day"

Label:Big Hit Entertainment
Release Date:March 4th, 2013

Anyone who's been through a breakup knows the feeling of reliving all the little moments and wondering where things went wrong or what could have been done to fix the relationship. Who was at fault? When did things break? The hard truth is that there's not usually an easy answer, and2AMcaptures the experience of coming to that understanding beautifully in their video for "One Spring Day".

29. 15& "Somebody"
Label:
JYP Entertainment

Release Date:April 8th, 2013

15&'s "Somebody" parodied the show that made Park Ji Min famous - 'K-Pop Star' - and boy, did they have fun with it. The duo dressed up as the three judges (at the time, Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment, J.Y. Park of JYP Entertainment, and BoA of SM Entertainment), and saw a slew of contestants through auditions, including labelmate and former 'K-Pop Star' contestant Baek Ah Yeon and their own producer, J.Y. Park himself.

28. NU'EST "Sleep Talking"
Label:
Pledis Entertainment

Release Date:August 21st, 2013

"Sleep Talking" is a story many of us have experienced- that feeling of liking someone, but not being able to bring yourself to say anything about it, to the point where you're more likely to confess through sleep talking than in real life. In the video, the band members experience an epic shared dream that just can't seem to turn into a happy ending.

27. INFINITE-H "Special Girl"
Label:
Woollim Entertainment
Release Date:January 10th, 2013

While romance is obviously the main topic of most K-pop videos, INFINITE-H brought us the unusual topic of workplace romance, with both members of this INFINITE sub-unit trying to work up the nerve to confess to a coworker. Why the same girl is both an employee at Dongwoo's office and an actor in Hoya's movie is a mystery that only the casting director can explain, nobody can deny the sweetness of this song and video.

26. Lee Jung Hyun "V"
Label:
AVA Film Entertainment
Release Date:July 22nd, 2013

Nobody does K-pop videos quite like Lee Jung Hyun, and "V" just proved that point. The video played out like a 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' kind of camp horror film with a creepy doll themed twist. Lee Jung Hyun gives a spot-on performance as a desperate bride-to-be, and her chosen husband really never had a chance for escape.
