Though they debuted only four months ago, girl group CHI CHI are already receiving love calls from numerous Japanese record companies. According to industry representatives, the girls are currently in discussions for contracts with four major Japanese labels. Considering how the girls debuted in March, they technically don't have the large fanbase size that most other groups seem to have. Still, Japanese representatives took notice of their potential and reached out to the girls first. Other girl groups took years to advance into the market, but with Hallyu developing rapidly, CHI CHI will mark the shortest time between debut and advancement out of their fellow girl groups this year. A representative of one Japanese label said, "Korean idols first appealed to the Japanese people for having a charm different from Japanese idols, but now they're all walking a similar, standardized pattern.�We're seeing a lot of potential for advancement in CHI CHI, as they have the same innocent charm and individuality between the members, just like top idol groups AKB48 and Morning Musume." CHI CHI's agency responded, "We're not at the stage where we can reveal specifics yet, but all that's left currently is to choose a final label that we feel would best suit CHI CHI's advancement."
