SISTAR's Hyorin caused her fans some concern after the condition of her vocal cords were revealed on KBS's "Idol Health Beauty Contest". All the female idol contestants were screened for a report on the health of their vocal cords. Test results showed that Hyorin's vocal cords were in the worst condition of all, which led her to confess that she had a tendency to shout when she laughs. Although professionals didn't feel that surgery was necessary, they still advised her to rest them in order to prevent vocal cord nodules.
