The much-loved tvN drama 'Reply 1997' regrettably came to an end but not all was depressing as the show enjoyed its best ratings.

According to TNms Research, the final episode of 'Reply 1997' averaged a whopping 7.55% in viewer ratings (subscriber based, 6.22% household based) and at it's peak hit 9.47% during the broadcast, easily securing the first place spot among cable TV programs. 'Reply 1997', week by week has been setting and re-setting the new record high for cable drama ratings.

According to netizens' analysis, 'Reply 1997' was the most watched drama during its time frame among the age range of teenagers to those in their 50's. It was especially popular among female viewers between their 20's and 30's, taking 11% of viewership from that age group at the peak of the episode.

During the episode, the mystery of who would be Siwon (Eunji)'s husband was at last solved, and the story ended with a happy ending. Many viewers were worried that Siwon and Yunjae's love would not be requited because of the title of the episode, 'The Reason Why First Loves Don't Last', but such worries were washed away as the episode revealed that two had gotten married and had their second child on the way.

Meanwhile, 'Reply 1997' was set in the 90's in the city of Busan, and comically drew out the high school lives and friendships of '1st Generation groupie' Siwon, 'Siwon lover' Yunjae, porn obsessed Hakchan (Eun Ji Won), sweet and sensitive Junhee (Hoya), and others.

As a unique and sentimental old-school drama, 'Reply 1997' received much love, sparking nostalgia among viewers, especially those �in their late 20's and 30's who had spent their school days in the 90's.
