MC Mong hit with allegations that he dodged military service

- Views

Korean news station OBS reported today that rapper MC Mong avoided military service through illegal means. As many of you know, South Korea has strict conscription where all men must serve at least 2 years in the military by the age of 31. There’s some ways to avoid military service and one way is if you have some form of medical issue.

MC Mong was found inadequate for full military service in a military health examination due to the condition of his teeth. According to OBS, there’s allegations that MC Mong gained this status by getting a dentist to intentionally ruin his teeth. The reports state that his dentist has already been investigated and the rapper himself is to be investigated next.

Mong’s company was quick to respond; IS Entertainment released a statement through their legal representatives, stating “MC Mong did indeed receive special exemption from the military service due to his teeth. However, the report was not true; MC Mong did not engage in any illegal activities with his dentist. We will prove to the police investigation and we are prepared to answer every questions the authorities have for us.”

The company went on to state, “The police are still investigating into the matter and MC Mong has yet to be summoned to be investigated. Even MC Mong himself has yet to clarify the situation, but a mere media outlet reported this matter as if this was a breaking news. We question whether the news station’s actions were justified or not, and will take legal measures for this ignorance.”

MC Mong has yet to comment on this matter. Stay tuned to Allkpop as the story progresses.
