The idol drama “You’re Beautiful” is very popular these days with a large variety of viewers. Out of the entire cast, the most hated character is probably Yoo He Yi played by After School’s UEE. He Yi is a big celebrity who bothers main character Go Mi Nam about her hidden secret. Producer Hong Sung Chang revealed the reason for why UEE was cast to play the role of this hated character.
Producer Hong said:
“Many celebrities came to audition for the part of He Yi. When UEE was auditioning, without any warning, we told her to ’start crying’ and she started to drop huge tears within seconds so I decided I would cast her right on the spot. I think I made a good choice the more I see UEE’s acting.”
Producer Hong also went on to compliment the entire cast on their performances and revealed a fun story. Because the entire cast are in their 20’s, they are asked for autographs frequently from the staff members for their friends and relatives. So basically, during their free time, the actors are busy signing autographs.
“You’re Beautiful” is definitely a successful drama and the cast is superb. UEE makes me hate her character so she is doing a great job, don’t you agree?

UEE’s character in YAB is really being hated by everyone, even me.. but i have only realized that this kind of hate means that she has done a great job in her role, which made me love her..! :)

UEE wasn’t lucky that I discovered here with Yoo He Yi, that’s why I began to hate her. Probably because she was doing it extremely well.

she’s playing the part alright. she’s not terrible. just terribly annoying to look at. i wonder if she gets along with the rest of the cast members.

She portrays the protagonist you’d love to hate and and don’t mind hating. In fact seeing the comments UEE gets as Yoo He Yi makes me like her even more coz it takes a great actress to pull-off such a great character.
Hate the character and not the actress, people. She’s just doing her job. Get your mind back to reality!

And it kinda makes sense she was cast too, since I heard she’s really popular. Personally, I don’t get it and think she’s way overrated. I already feel lame for watching this stupid show in the first place, but at least it gives me a legit excuse to call UEE a fake ho :D

Not a bad series, i’m still watching it. It lacks the star power and acting skills of “Boys over Flowers” though. I think Hongki does the best job out of the males. And i wouldn’t call this series a resounding success with 10% viewership coming close to the 10th episode. Then again, IRIS proves the “star power” model wrong.
