We’ve all been jamming to After School’s latest track “Because of You,” unfortunately the track was not released by Pledis, but leaked by MBC FM4U accidentally.
On the 23rd, during MBC FM4U’s Taeyeon’s Chin Chin Radio program, the show accidentally aired After School’s new track, which then quickly hit P2P sharing and download sites. For reference, tracks are usually sent in ahead of time by labels to the radio stations for review of explicit or suggestive lyrics. Once approved, the radio stations are then supposed to wait until the album is released, prior to playing it on the air.
Unfortunately this has disrupted their plans of releasing the track on the 25th and has definitely lessened the impact of the MV teaser which was released earlier today.
This isn’t the first time Chin Chin Radio has caused distress for artists, as last July, both MC Mong and T-ara suffered from the same mishandling of tracks by Chin Chin Radio.
Pledis Entertainment stated:
“It is true that the songs can be aired once it is approved, however, songs are usually aired after the official release date of the album. Considering the varying amounts of time each broadcasting company takes to review, we normally send the songs in early. Wouldn’t the pattern be broken if the broadcasting companies aired them beforehand?”
Looks like someone’s going to get some heat. But hey, After School’s new track is pretty awesome and it should do well no matter what.

Ugh, I’m pretty sure Taeyeon will get flamed, because antis are so … desperate and they want to “take her down” with everything they can. Which doesn’t make sense, because Taeyeon did NOTHING. But whatever, After School can’t really sing anyway. And they have UEE, which makes it like 10x worse.

Sad for After School. But as a fan, I didn’t find it less appealing knowing now that it was leaked. So what? It’s After School, and I have waited so long. I have suffered so much from their song Diva, so things are starting to look up. (Even without Seoyeon. :( )

And also 4minute is famous b/c they have Hyuna the sexy queen from WG, Secret = fail up to this point, f(x) rides on SM popularity despite the fact they can’t produce a #1 song up to their 2nd single while 2ne1, 4minute, t-ara all get #1 on multiples online and/or offline charts with their 2nd release. So the fact that these rookies fail or success, AGAIN, has nothing to do with chinchin radio. Big loss? A must? I don’t think so..
But yeah, people should not blame TaeYeon, she’s just be there to play her MC role and most of the time, she’s clueless about what’s being play on the radio. So yeah, why blame the girl?

Well, not a bad reputation to Chinchin. It’s still 1 of the influential radios in Korea.. and this is definitely not Taeyeon’s fault. The PDs need to blame.. @chamber, the companies are the one who need to stop riding Chinchin’s fame.

well u can say this time it’s the international fans that are ignorant. no one in korea is blaming chinchin or taeyeon. it’s all a publicity stunt from AS’s company. remember T-ara’s leaked track. their company apologized thinkin it was leaked but it really wasnt. as far as i know t-ara never came on chinchin and their song were never played ever since. its the company fault for trying to use mbc chinchin to ride up their fame. some of you need to stop believing everything you see online
CHin CHin radio should get their acts together, I’m starting to think they are doing it on purpose to beat all the other radio shows to the punch. I mean to do it once is an accident, but multiple times is pretty fishy.

Ahaha actually the situation is totally the opposite, AS are getting all the bashing right now in Korea. After all these years international fans still don’t know enough of how kpop works. The Allkpop replies are just… hilarious.
This is an attempt by AS(their company Pledis rather) to stir up some publicity, and a bad one at that. These songs are submitted to radio stations and once they pass the broadcast review they can be aired, whether the song is released to public or not. It is up to AS’s company to ask the radio station to hold the airing until the song is released
For success of songs the airplay on radio is the most important thing after TV music shows, which is why the managers go out of their way to ask the radio stations to play their songs, even trying to bribe the PDs. If you are a kpop artist you simply don’t mess with the radio PDs.
AS’s company tried to stir up publicity in a dangerous way and they screwed up badly this time.

Same thing happened to MC Mong and he said “No problem it’s just from a misunderstanding” and he came on Chin Chin later with everyone happy.
Same thing happened to T-Ara and T-Ara’s company released complaint news articles and got bashed left and right for their publicity stunt then finally they apologized to MBC Chin Chin days later.
From news article: “On 29th Core Contents officially apologized to MBC: ‘We mistakenly thought Wanna Play was played before broadcast review but it was played after the review so there is no problem. We apologize for the misunderstanding’”
But MBC has not forgiven them and their songs haven’t been played on Chin Chin to this day nor were they invited to Chin Chin (It’s absolute must for rookies to be on Chin Chin – 4Minute, Secret, f(x) came on Chin Chin and got great publicity). Mind you it’s the AS or T-Ara girls who are the real victims, it’s always the stupid companies creating disaster.
This isn’t going to do any good for AS’s reputation but fortunately Korean fans understand it’s the company’s fault and not the girls. Junggwan PD (Chin Chin’s PD who is in charge of all this) is reportedly mad again.
Bah this news is rather silly and don’t really gather much interest in Korea because Korean fans are sick and tired of these type of “media play”, but I wanted to explain it once for records

Chin Chin and MBC don’t have anything to worry about. Korean netizens are totally looking at this issue in a different direction. They’d probably laugh if they saw what most international fans think about this topic.

Chin chin needs to wake up their employees and maybe fire the one that’s been leaking these songs lol. IMO the song is still pretty good. I can’t really like it simply because of the autotune though =/ Cut out like the first 30 seconds and it’s great.

I’ve heard the track already. Good enough, good enough. Things like these happen, I doubt it would trample AS activities to begin with. Fans would still be excited over their comeback no matter what. I mean, it IS still exciting!

lol….i agree. taeyeon doesn’t even have controls over which song is air on her radio only the pds do. so it’s not taeyeon’s fault. she just a mc for the radio show providing her cute and dorky personality for listeners. now if you going to flame her and put all the blame on her then just like #50 said, S<3NEs will eat you alive.
