KARA “New Revolution” (RELEASED TODAY)

01. 미스터 Mr.
02. Wanna
03. 마법
04. 몰래몰래 (Secretly)
05. Let It Go
06. Take A Bow
07. AHA
08. 똑 ê°™ì€ ë§˜ (The Same Heart)
09. Wanna (Inst.)
10. 마법 (Inst.)
Kara is back with their 2nd full length album, but I have to say, though the song is okay, I was a bit disappointed with their music video for “Wanna”. “New Revolution” is an album that has brought Kara along with the electronica wave that is the trend in K-pop, however the songs still sound very much “Kara”, which is great. I love it when an artist can change styles yet still stick to their root sound that we all have come to love. Hence, I recommend “Secretly” and “The Same Heart”.

Dream OST

01. SHINee – Countdown
02. Someday – Always
Two tracks off the OST for the highly anticipated drama “Dream” (featuring Joo Jin Mo, Son Dam Bi and Kim Bum) have been released. “Countdown” by Shinee is kind of like K-Pop’s attempt at “Eye of the Tiger” while “Always” by Someday is a pop ballad song that starts slow but picks up into the chorus. Someday was also featured as an artist for the Boys Over Flowers soundtrack with the song “Do You Know”. Both are tracks that I recommend. Now to go watch the drama… Listen to SHINee here: Click Me

T-ara “ê±°ì§“ë§ (Lies)“ Sounds Like: Brown Eyed Girls, Seeya

01. ê±°ì§“ë§ /Lies (Part.1)
02. ê±°ì§“ë§ /Lies (Part.2)
03. 놀아볼래/ Wanna Play
04. ê±°ì§“ë§ (Ballad Ver.)
To be quite honest, I wasn’t expecting much of this group, and rightfully so, because I got what I expected. Not to say that I don’t like this album because the songs are pretty catchy, but it would have been better if the girls brought something to the table that actually surprised me. The song lies sounds similar to Brown Eyed Girls right before “Sound-G” dropped.

The Quiett “Back On The Beats 0.5″ Sounds Like: Underground Hip Hop

01. Declare 2K9(feat. Pento)
02. ë¥ë¯¸(feat. Loquence)
03. ê·¸ê²ƒì€ íž™í•© í˜¹ì€ ë°œë¼ë“œ
04. 그 후 몇 년
05. People Love Yesterday
06. Quiett Heavenì—” 그림ìžê°€ 지지 않는다
The Quiett is one of the better MC’s in the Korean hip hop underground scene so this new album is nothing less than what I expected: Great. The Quiett has produced tracks for many MC’s and has also been featured with many other popular rappers of today, such as Epik High and Dynamic Duo.

Staff Recommendation: PK Heman “Gloria”

1. Gloria ( Feat.Goeunê³ ì€ )
2. U.U.U ( Feat.Jace ì œì´ìФ, K-Jun )
Poopiness: PK Heman, who used to do a lot of rapping for ballads now switches gear with an upbeat hip hop track. Depressing melodramatic music didn’t sell, and so he took the next obvious step, sex. Well, consider me sold. You will be singing the English part of chorus in no time. “Bang Bang You! Gloria, up and up and up and up and down.” Just make sure no one is around, or they might misunderstand, if you know what I mean. You know, misunderstand that you are listening to English music. What were YOU thinking about?
