Not only is MC Mong’s full album for Humanimal out, the full MV for Indian Boy has been released as well! Not exactly impressive to my tastes, but the concept definitely fits MC Mong – very unique and refreshing to see and hear.
Check it out!
A little over a year, MC Mong will be making his comeback with the following dates and shows: On July 23rd, he will be on M.net M! Countdown, July 24th will be on KBS2TV Music Bank, July 25th on MBC Music Core, and July 26th on SBS Inkigayo. its absolutely awesome
XD
wow i LOVE this song&mv; (:
go mc mong hope this song tops the charts!
Awesome track, but random mv.. xP
I can see how this would be offensive.
But again.. random.
And who’s that kid?
wow. the music video turned out to be everything I hoped it wouldn’t be. MC Mong, you should be ashamed of yourself and I hope that you learn someday how to be a real man who knows how to respect others.
@59: uh huh. sure ^^;;
@64: a bunch of parodies should come out with different races…that would be funny
@ 82 Peter Pan was made in 1953. I hope we’ve changed our attitudes since then.
And just because people are always stereotyped doesn’t make it right. And they are not called Indian anymore because they are not Indian. People from the country of India are Indian. People native to America are Native American, The only reason they were called Indians was because idiot Columbus thought he was in India, not the new world. And 81 was saying that people used to call all asians Chinese no matter where they came from (just as politically incorrect as calling a Native American an Indian). the song is fine but the MV is racist and stupid and doesn’t make since (Native Americans in the jungle on some sort of African safari)?
awsome song! its so freaking catchy. and who cares if ppl think its racist, im indian and MC MONG WINS!~~~
wow
i think he means NATIVE AMERICAN not INDIAN
wow
they still don’t know the difference
I enjoyed the mv. Hahah it was hilarious. I agree with 82. Just sit back and watch the damn mv because it’s not like he is actually causing physical pain to anybody. Dude chill out!
The MV was funny! I liked it! :D
omg who was that little kid// he was soo cute! and i loveeeeeeee his new song. totally fun
monkey mong!!!
Native Americans USED to be called “indians” (to the above post) so I dont get why you are saying its like saying chinese boy about korean people O_O
And I dont get why this music video is so offensive ~ other races ie Latino, hispanic, ASIAN and african american ALWAYS get stereotypes to the core ~ and in cartoons Indians (or native americans to be Politically correct) are always stereotyped and yet no one makes a huge fuss
This stereotype of indians is probably how a lot of people see them anyway ~ like in movies like Peter Pan ~ thats how they were depicted ~ you gonna call up disney and yell at them?!
Its just a music video ~ its the song that really matters because thats hat Mc Mong did himself the video is just by a video director ~ so stop slamming MC Mong and calling him an idiot !
who’s the little kid? this song and MV are definitely going to get under some pressure. seriously? “indian” boy? get the facts straight first, all the stereotypes in the mv? it’s like someone making a song called “chinese boy” when it’s really about koreans. everyone saying they love this song, shut up and think about it first. this song is wack as hell. he should go back to this ‘i love you, oh thank you’ days.
haha, i like it MC MONG!!
Adyn: But he is shit-talking Indians by simply continuing to promote stereotypes and dis-respect of another nation/race’s traditions?
If I was to do a video in a Korean home dancing in shoes on someone’s bed while singing about the soupy goodness of poshingtang and how it will give me stamina to conquer the world.. or at least in a room salon… and save Dokdo from the imperialist Japanese.. hey.. it’s all in fun.. it’s just stereotypes.. but it is still not acceptable, no?
Granted.. the lyrics are not THAT bad outside of the use of an incorrect term… but the imagery is just horrific.
Wow.. MC Mong whoever did your concept should get fired. Native Americans aren’t considered Indians. Research, dude.
looks so dumb
this shiznit is so awesome.. im luvin it lol
whatever. love MC mong :) who IS that little kid? he most def reminds me of GD, haha.
I actually like the concept of the MV alot, as yo usaid it’s very refreshing. MC Mong never disappoints.
the music is very MC mong- like but i like it.
and the little boy [B.I]; the next GD? lols. starting at a little age wit a name with initials! lmao
I love it <3
it’s catchy but not my style
Love MC MONG!! and this song <33
The MV is fresh. Very MC Mong!
Dont ya hate it when people ruin the fun, its not like hes shit talking indians, geez….the whole world gets fahkin sterotyped and this dude goin nuts…
I invite the reader’s of allkpop to educate themselves:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_bonnet
I am not native North American.. but I would NEVER touch/wear a head-dress/war bonnet unless I was *invited* to by someone who had earned it or been awarded one myself. It is entirely symbolic and shame on the man for using it to sell records/make money.
YAY! Racist stereotypes all over this one! Hope the Native North American community has a field day with this one… I had no idea that MC Mong = classless.
But after finding out that his Invincible video was a complete rip-off from a video by UNKLE and now seeing this racist tripe…. I hope the K-pop community knows better than support his dumb a**.
Too bad.. I used to be a fan.
MC MONG HWAITING!!!!!!!!<33333333
I AM A CHINA MAN CHINA MAN CHINA MAN
That sounds so good, doesn’t it? We should make a parody of it with Native-Americans dressed in Chinese outfits eating orange chicken and stretching their eyes. MC Mong might as well paint his skin red while he is at it. I like MC Mong and I think he is hilarious and skilled, but this is pushin the limit. The song is not so great either compared to his older works.
it is good, but not great.
I think MC Mong has the potential to do better.
if you guys dont like the song then dont listen to it
because i dont think writing an essay will stop us from listening to this song.
ii Like it !! But hus the lil Kid ,, hes soo cute <3 haha
awesome XD
the MV was the bomb and the song is like the perfect summer song !
can’t wait to see his performances ^^
@56 Just because he isn’t the only one doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve criticism. Turning a blind eye to such stereotypes is just as wrong as playing into them. There will other be other racists in the world. Doesn’t mean they don’t get criticized. Your argument is essentially like saying because other people murder, I shouldn’t be sent to jail for murder. Do you see how flawed of an argument that is? When someone with such ability to reach the masses in South Korea like MC Mong releases something so offensively stereotypical it’s hard not to take notice. MC Mong should have known better.
I think this video is way too stereotypical on its portrayal of Native Americans. I agree w/ 51, it makes them seem like total savages. Plus if they are going to stereotype a culture can they at least get part of it right? I mean bongos, congas, and “Indians” in the jungle? Really now. MC Mong, being a fellow “musician” should at least know that bongos and congas are drums from Cuba with African origins.
Also, MC Mong should know that his usage of the war bonnet could also be very potentially offensive. From my understanding, the war bonnet was earned through brave deeds and is highly symbolic in various Native American cultures. It just doesn’t seem right to me.
There are also the tribal chants, the hand muffled “Indian” war cries, and at the end where the little boy is tied to a stick. It’s all just so wrong on so many levels, people. Show some sensitivity to other cultures for once. Sure I understand that MC Mong had no bad intentions and his goal is simply to entertain. Yet when the entertainment is at the expense of skewing a proud and amazing culture, is it really something to be proud of? MC Mong deserves to be criticized. If he was going to go with the “Indian” concept he should have at least done some research. Instead it seems like he just went ahead and went with whatever racial stereotypes he and the director knew.
To such a sheltered nation like Korea’s, this type of “entertainment” only helps bolster already prevalent stereotypes. This is not about political correctness. This is about doing a people justice. It’s about helping Korea’s youth grow up to be more accepting of a multicultural society. MC Mong knows the impact he has and the audiences he can reach. Imagine the outrage that would come out of Korea if a random American made a music video called “Korean Boy”. Let’s say the “Korean Boy” simply studies all day, has no friends, is blatantly racist, and eats kimchi with dog. It’s simply insulting.
I know this is a long comment but I feel passionate about this. By the way, my god could MC Mong get on the nerve of musicians any more than he does now? At least have the band people press a valve or move a slide.
I LOVE THIS SONG !
BIG BIG HIT ! ! ! ! ! ! <333333333333333333333333333333333
stop being so frikken offended. i’m sure MC Mong did not pick this new concept to insult Native Americans. you guys are acting like MC Mong is the person who starts the stereotypes. Reality is MC Mong is not the only person who thinks about Native Americans that way. There are many many many other people in the world who stereotype Native Americans like that so get over it.
What about all the Asian or African American, etc. stereotypes?? Should they all just get offended and kill everybody who offend them?? if you don’t like it, don’t watch it, don’t listen to it. why be a hater?? you got time on your hands? go do something meaningful.
P.S. this type of song is sooooo MC Mong. It’s good to have him back. We missed you Monkey ^^;;
Awesome song ^^
I love it . Another great product by the Korean Music industry.
Loved the song; can’t wait to see the translations! however, the video made me cry a little bit on the inside lol It must have had every single stereotype of “indians.” ^^;
This song is definitely one of my favourite summer ‘09 songs! MC Mong has a strong comeback. ~ (And when I saw that little boy, I couldn’t help but think of GD too! xD)
I still think the concept is a big offensive. Nothing changes the fact that it depicts Native Americans as primitive wild-men.
