BoA to be on Music Station too
TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki won’t be the only Korean artist on March 6th’s Music Station. Fellow SM Entertainment artist BoA will also be on the show as well.
BoA has been a very busy girl with all her activities in Japan and her recent activities in America with the upcoming release of her American album on March 17th. Now she’s going to head back to Japan to film for Music Station, she must be tired from all this traveling back and forth.
It was exciting know that TVXQ was going to be on Music Station. Now, it’s going to be even more exciting to see TVXQ and BoA on the same show, the last time we saw that was at the 2008 SBS Gayo Daejeon awards. Thanks to Sharing Yoochun and KPOP JJANG for sharing the news.

I agree, popularity is not just based on sales, but it has a lot to do with promotion and marketting. If Avex/SM are going to be debutting BoA in America they shouldn’t be over-working her by making her release stuff that isn’t properly promoted at the same time in Japan
@chubbs Well BoA is an album seller, not a single seller, meaning most of her sales come from Albums. Tohoshinki, like every other boybands in Japan sell a lot of singles but not albums. At the moment, Tohoshinki sell more singles than BoA, but BoA sells more albums than Tohoshinki. But something to keep in mind is that a lot of BoA’s CDs revenues come from rental sales because in Japan, you can rent CDs instead of buying. BoA’s fans range from middle school students to middle aged adults, so a lot of the middle & high school students can’t afford to buy CDs but can only rent. And also BoA’s CDs tend to chart longer than Tohoshinki because she appeals more to the general public- while these people are not hardcore BoA’s fans who buy every single BoA’s CDs, they only buy the CDs that they like. Tohoshinki, on the other hand, have a very hardcore fanclub ‘Bigeast’- which consist mostly of stayed at home middle aged housewives who have money and pretty much go out and buy every single Tohoshinki’s singles. That’s why Tohoshinki’s sales always take a nosedive after the first few days because those CDs are mostly purchased by their fanclub members. Right now, Avex is promoting Tohoshinki much much much more than BoA so that why’s Tohoshinki’s popularity is increasing while BoA’s popularity is decreasing. I asked some of my friends in Japan, and most of them have heard of Tohoshinki before, but they don’t know any of Tohoshinki’s songs. But all of them know BoA’s songs (and they’re not even her fans). So popularity is not just based on sales…

I think it's not so much her popularity in decline, but the [i]material[/i] she’s releasing. Her last few singles were CRAP (Sweet Impact- there’s something wrong when the B-side > A-side, LOVE LETTER, LOSE YOUR MIND (it’s decent), be with you. – PURE CRAP, Vivid.. wtf!.. and even before THE FACE era, she had some bad singles: KEY OF HEART, make a secret).
EIEN is a good song, but it alone is not strong enough to pull up a string of five poor singles and a bad album (the only good thing about THE FACE was its cover). Not to mention, they [b]included all three A-sides on EIEN on her upcoming BEST & USA album[/b]. Obviously, people want to get BEST & USA that’s releasing soon. Also, the other two A-sides are B-sides at best. -_-;
Also, she doesn’t have a solid image (classy to sexy to cute to tomboy to ?!), and she barely did any promotion for EIEN (1 performance of UNIVERSE, 2 half-assed-tired-jetlag performances of EIEN).

Back on topic: BoA is not doing too great in Japan at the moment… is the 15K on the first week true? Cause dang that’s like almost 1/10th of what DBSK is selling. Personally I think she should concentrate on either America OR Japan, and not both of them at the same time. But I’m a fan of hers and of course I’m super excited to see Arashi, BoA and DBSK all on the same episode. Here’s hoping for tons of interactions (though I doubt it cause the Music Station MC is super dull and makes every interview boring).

Aya Matsuura is a Japanese singer, actress and she does variety shows as well. She’s in the same company as Morning Musume but she just recently graduated from Hello Project I believe. Anyways, BoA and Ayaya are best friends and they’re the same age too- they’re so cute together.
I’m really looking forward to this week’s Music Station. I really love BoA’s Eien performance and her last performance on Music Station for Universe was probably one of her best performance on that show.
Aya matsuura is like BoA’s best friend in Japan. If I’m not mistaken, she use to be a part of Hello! Project, a big girl group project in Japan.
