AJ Is Good At Copying
AJ has already made a name for himself. Having released several dance videos and more recently, a teaser of his upcoming single “Dancing Shoes,” he’s been causing quite a buzz among Kpop fans. But did you know that the choreography AJ uses is not his own? Below, you can see AJ using the moves, the tutting part to be exact, of America’s Best Dance Crew’s recent winner, Quest Crew. Although tutting is quite common in dance, that particular tutting section was choreographed by Hok Konishi, a member of Quest Crew.

Although he does a pretty good job of copying the dance moves, he’s already got some minus points from me for not being creative enough to make his own dances. I hope he brings something else to the table when he debuts.

if you’re going to copy, dont make it so damn obvious. sheesh.
okay…so what if he copied? he’s just making a video. did you forget that artists dances for performances and mv’s are CHOREOGRAPHED, but nice attempt of putting him down. myriads of different artists will make videos using other’s dance steps, so what, it’s not like he went on tv, performed it to HIS song then said HE came up with it, he just made a promo video. So what if he just wants to show off his dancing ability and likes the moves he saw.
This is why all kpop isnt always a reliable source. You actually think those dance crews are original?

i once saw big bang doing it.for me it’s normal..as long as it’s suitable,why not?
plus, it makes his perfs better..i don wanna watch a dull dance perfs nway..

Hok from Quest is quote “King Tut”, copying his choreography is a huge no-no. Let’s hope he credit’s him. When it comes to JabbaWockeeZ, one other crew has used the mask a few times before them, but they know & approve of JBWKZ. I wonder if Jabba knows about this guy? 2 mask wearing groups is enough, IMO.

There’s nothing wrong with copying dance moves as long as he’s not claiming the moves are his. He’s just performing dance routines in public. People do it all the time. Many people copy michael jackson’s dance moves, especially korean celebrities during performances, and people don’t say squat. Unless he’s claiming those moves to be his own without permission of the original creator, then there’s nothing wrong with it.
well, u shouldnt just blame it on AJ coz i dont think he did the choreography … its probably done by some more professional dancers(?)

As long as AJ doesn’t claim this as his own work, then I think it’s fine. And if you’re gonna say every crew on ABDC copies moves, you might as well say that for every other dancer out there. If they copy a choreographed routine, then you should say it’s a joke. You can’t say it’s bad to copy moves because dance moves are recycled, but if you copy a routine created by someone else and claiming it as your own, then that’s a different story. Although I personally think if you give credit to the original choreographer then it’s fine because they are still being recognized for choreographing it.

To the people saying he should join 2PM – I believe all of 2PM can freestyle to a certain extent, and Junho, Wooyoung and Jaebum have great, distinctive styles, so no. All of 2PM are above average dancers, which is more than you can say for all other idol groups.

And imo the only one who’s a great dancer in Big Bang is Taeyang. Seungri got left behind a while ago.
As for this guy, if this was just some videos he did for fun, then I see no harm. I would have a problem if this was his official choreography.
