AJ is Dreaming of a Debut
Trainee singer AJ has started going on “street raids” to help promote his debut. He has uploaded videos of himself doing performances on the web and is gaining a lot of interest. In fact, the performance with 5 white-masked men (AJ and 4 friends Jabbawockeez style, see below) drew in citizens like flies on poo.
Who’s AJ? AJ is currently a trainee of JYP Entertainment and had appeared on the Korean show ‘Entertainment Relay’ with a segment titled “Dreaming of a Trainee’s Future”. Man, I knew JYP was smart ever since he brought the Wonder Girls to the top, but he sure is great at promotion. Seeing his past track record for new artists (Rain, Wonder Girls, 2AM + 2PM), we might have another artist that starts his very own version of the ‘Tell Me’ craze.

This just goes to show you how stupid you idiots really are. AJ is good friends with a few members of the Jabbawockeez if he were really jockin them they would be saying something themselves. So stfu you retards.
Seriously if he wanted a debut so badly he shouldn’t had put on one of those masks. It just makes him look like a biter from Expression or Jabba. If you watch carefully some of his dance moves are the ones used by Jabba in ABDC.
I would of looked forward to it more if he didn’t do that but alwells Good Luck to him.

OMG! When I first saw the banner I immediatley thought of Jabbawockeez and that’s cool, cuz I’m from Germany and only by chance watch the show (Americas’s best dance crew?!) on MTV XD

I was watching the videos and felt like they were going to rob a bank or something with those masks. Those are some scary masks, with the lips cut out o-o I don’t know about the street raids.. =/ If I’m not mistaken, I heard some citizens screaming when they came near.

so back in early 2000s i used to talk a lot of smack on YG artists for copying everything they saw coming out of American Hip Hop. I guess JYP’s following in YG’s footsteps…

But yeah i agree they ppl these days are too ignorant to do research and automatically assumes since they saw these people do it then they must be the originators of the style. Also people are sometimes too focused on the little things rather than on the actually overall dance and style.

The first clip I put is a total 9 minutes long and at 6 minutes Expression are wearing masks. This was at Boty 2002. I was just being a dick cause kids these days don’t even research before making a fool out of themselves. After Jabbawockeez won ABDC people automatically assume MASKS were invented by them and that just ignorant. But what my real thought is who gives a sh#t about what they wear as long as their dancing is creative and original.
okay this is gonna be my last post on this Jabba / expression subject but here is Rainen’s message about the masks and stuff:
“YO just lettin yall know that the we wear the mask because of a tradition in the west coast, and because it helps to portray the music, and tell the story of what the music is doing….
FACTS…. Wearing gloves and mask started way in the late 70’s early 80’s in the west coast…Such groups as demons of the mid, media sirkas, ect….Us as jabbawockeez are carrying tradition but adding our own feel to it with bboying, urban hiphop, new jack, ect……Its cool that everybody talks about the expressions show but just to let yall know…We have been rocking shows lke that since 2002, and expressions didnt start doing that marinet show till end of 2004 going to 2005…..We never watched their show until people starting telling us that they were doing a similar show like ours…..Grant it my boy kevin said that we are like marinets, but that is something that he said to explain to the audience, and that is how we felt since we started the crew in 2002…..
It is funny how people are calling us biters since we are getting noticed, when people like NESS, POE ONE, CRUMBS, MEDIA SIRKAS, FLO MASTA, WIGGLES, POPPING PETE and other reall hip hop heads that made noise in the game have been giving us mad respect since day one….Too everyone out there…and no disrepect to expressions because there show was really dope but, That was a show that they did, but this is the style that we do…..We are just keep the legacy of this style and culture of this dance…….

@ 47 Iunno i never saw them say they got their moves from expression. I got the info from an old post someone posted where Rainen wrote an explanation for the masks cuz ppl were saying they stole it form Expression. And if u ever seen Medea Sirkas they are from the 1970’s – 80’s and from the bay area (where Jabba are from) it’s obviously more likely they got inspiration from a local old school crew then one from an ocean away in a diff country. Anyways we’re goign completely off topic now lol.
